Sculpture Trail The spectacular surrounding landscape of Magheraroarty near Gortahork with its stunning beach, sand dunes and mountain views will once again form the backdrop for the dramatic open-air exhibition of illuminated sculpture, film and music. Twelve artists along with local children will present newly created large-scale sculptures, which will light up and come alive as daylight fades and the night descends. The night-time trail induces a beguiling, enthralling and magical atmosphere. The location becomes dreamlike, as the sounds of music harmonising with the sculptures and the unique setting engender a sense of wonder and enchantment for all the family. Please note: Trail distance: 3.5km, access via Magheraroarty Pier Road with parking available at pier (Please follow signs). Limited disabled parking also available beside trail. Ground will not always be level. Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing and to bring a torch.
Rian Dealbhóireachta Beidh tírdhreach mórthaibhseach Mhachaire Rabhartaigh in aice le Gort an Choirce, agus a thránna áille, a dhumhacha agus radharcanna sléibhe, mar shuíomh arís i mbliana do thaispeántas drámatúil faoin aer de dhealbhóireacht lasta, scannáin agus ceol. Déanfaidh dhá ealaíontóir déag, le cois páistí áitiúla, dealbha móra úra a chruthú, a lasfaidh agus a éireoidh beoga le clapsholas gach tráthnóna. Beidh atmaisféar meallacach agus draíochtach i gceist ar an rian dealbhóireachta oíche seo. Is cinnte go rachaidh an ceol, na dealbha agus áilleacht na háite i gcion go mór ar gach ball den teaghlach, idir óg agus sean. Tabhair do d’aire: Fad an riain: 3.5km, bealach isteach ar bhóthar Ché Mhachaire Rabhartaigh; páirceáil ar fáil ar an ché (lean na comharthaí). Páirceáil theoranta do dhaoine faoi mhíchumas ar fáil in aice leis an rian. Ní bheidh an talamh ar fad cothrom. Iarrtar ar chuairteoirí éadaí fóirsteanacha a chaitheamh agus tóirse a thabhairt leo.

An Cosan Glas / Walk the plank - Loinnir - Magheroarty Beach Free
|

An Cosán Glas collaborating this year with guest visual arts company Walk The Plank (UK) create an outdoor night time exhibition that will include large scale illuminated sculpture, projected images and music. The spectacular surrounding landscape of mountains together with miles of beaches, sand dunes and sea make for an inspiring and dramatic open air gallery. In their work, nine professional artists will explore the elements of water, wind, fire, and light combined with video, colour and live music to create a night-time adventure.
I mbliana, beidh ealaíontóirí An Cosán Glas ag obair le compántas piriteicnic Walk The Plank , as cathair Manchester, chun lorg nua a chur le chéile a ndéanfaidh meabhrú ar na heilimintí nádúrtha – tine, uisce, aer is talamh – agus ar Imeacht na nIarlaí.

Bright Colours Only - one woman play.
|

Written, directed and performed by Pauline Goldsmith
Aras Begley Falcarragh 12/8 euro.A sell-out success of 2002 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Bright Colours Only is a unique one-woman show that celebrates the Irish wakehouse tradition that is still very much part of life and death, especially in Donegal. Before the makers of The Sopranos and Six Feet Under decided that death was a saleable commodity, Pauline Goldsmith was polishing the nameplate on her coffin, ironing her shroud and promoting the importance of embalming to anyone that would listen! It is an uplifting interactive experience that takes place in a virtual living room, with hilarious and harrowing memories from a Belfast childhood - during which the audience is invited to partake of tea, sandwiches and a wee dram, as is the custom.
Duration 1 hour approx. Suitable for all ages.
